What's next for Romelu Lukaku and Everton?

Last month Lukaku's agent, Mino Raiola, stated his client meant to snub interest from Chelsea and commit his future to Everton.

Not two days after hinting at possible future drama regarding his contract situation at Everton, reports are emerging about Romelu Lukaku having rejected Everton's club record extension offer.

Chelsea also don't have the best of relationships with his agent Raiola and are reluctant to do business with the Italian because of his financial demands. "Talks are ongoing. He will sign".

CHELSEA are ready to sell Diego Costa this summer as they target a sensational double swoop for Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata.

Reaction on social media has been reflective, with most fans agreeing that whilst it would be a shame to see him leave, no player is bigger than the club.

The forward has scored 20 times and assisted six in 29 appearances for Everton this season, with a scoring rate of a goal every 125 minutes in the Premier League.

Lukaku was never given the chance to showcase his talent in his first spell at Chelsea but it is quite clear the goal-machine has exactly what it takes to thrive at the highest level.

Everton have offered Lukaku a deal worth £140,000 a week but the striker wants to keep his options open.

Talks between Everton and Lukaku regarding a new contract worth £140,000-a-week broke down on Tuesday (14 March), with the Belgian global once again stating his desire to play Champions League football.

The expectation was that Lukaku would swiftly put pen to paper after the player's representative, Mino Raiola, twice went public with how close he felt the deal was. "No-one should worry, he's our player".

The former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder said: "The only thing I can think of personally is it might be one year too many".

Lukaku has been strongly linked with a move in recent days thanks to ongoing contract negotiations with Everton that seem to have hit a brick wall.
