Jennifer Lawrence's 'Mother!' Gets First Look With New Character Poster

No further details have been released as yet.

The poster features Lawrence herself, painted in an nearly porcelain manner, holding her own heart in outstretched hands while blood trickles down her dress.

Requiem For A Dream, Black Swan, The Fountain - hell, even The Wrestler had some genuinely uncomfortable moments and that was probably his straightest film to date. Featuring a waxen-faced, vestal Jennifer Lawrence, the image grinds against the maudlin conventions of the day.

Javier Bardem receives co-billing on the poster alongside Lawrence, and we might assume that the stars play the couple who has their relationship tested, but there's not any confirmation on that.

Mother! is slated for an October 13, 2017 release.

Also, why is she so shiny?

The first cinematic poster for the film, posted on Twitter by Aronofsky on Sunday, features a sullen-looking Jennifer Lawrence with her hands drenched in blood. And we're guessing closer to the latter.

Darren Aronofsky has made some excellent films over the last two decades. Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, Ed Harris and Brian Gleeson will also appear in the psychological flick.
