3 arrested in death of boy found in stolen car

Authorities said 6-year-old Kingston Frazier was in the backseat of his mom's auto when the vehicle was stolen.

A news conference was held on Thursday evening in which Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason revealed that a deputy was dispatched to the Kroger on I-55 North in Jackson after a witness reported a woman came out of the store reporting that her auto was missing.

An Amber Alert was eventually issued and local cops canvassed the area for several hours before finding the stolen vehicle in Gluckstadt at around 10 a.m., the Clarion-Ledger reports. The vehicle was found in the Madison County town of Gluckstadt. It is possibly a Honda Civic with a dent on the rear passenger side.

Hinds County sheriff's officials say the child's mother had left the auto running with Kingston inside. While DeAllen Washington, 18, surrendered himself, authorities said.

Dwan Wakefield, 18, was taken into custody around 11 a.m.

Hours of frantic searching for a six-year-old boy who went missing Thursday after thieves stole his mother's auto ended in tragedy when authorities found him shot dead inside the vehicle.

Kingston Frazier was sitting in the back of the auto when it was stolen from a grocery store parking lot.

Surveillance video showed two men in a 2-door Honda pull up to the auto. It has been taken to the State Crime Lab, along with the body of the little boy who has been taken there for autopsy.

Frazier was found shot dead in the back seat.

After hearing that Kingston had been killed, family and friends reacted to the news. Today was the day of his promotion ceremony at North Jackson Elementary. Now is the time for Jacksonians to unite under the banner of love and restoration. I can tell you this, we won't rest until they're brought to justice...

Frazier had been abducted in a grocery store parking lot and shot in the head.

Investigators say he was in a gray 2000 Toyota Camry with MS license plates HYX 783, and that this situation likely was initiated by theft of a vehicle.
