Chelsea striker to seal move to Newcastle United this weekend

According to reports, Newcastle United are closing in on a loan deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

The Sun claim that Rafael Benitez "is in talks" with the Blues to take the 19-year-old on loan to St James' Park next season.

After Dominic Solanke's departure to Liverpool earlier this week, the champions look set to lose their second England Under-21 star although unlike the former, fully expect to be teaming up with him again in the future.

Newcastle could turn their attentions to out-of-contract Willie Caballero, should their bid to land No 1 target Pepe Reina fail.

Abraham has fast become one of the most exciting young English forwards after a blistering loan spell at Bristol City in the Championship.

Prior to what is expected to be Abraham's first full season in the top flight, the hitman could feature in his maiden global tournament having been included in the initial England squad for the Under-21 European Championships in Poland next month.

Newcastle went up as Championship winners and will hope to mount a strong return to the Premier League.

The Sporting Lisbon defender is on Newcastle's radar, with Benitez looking to push through a deal.

However, if Abraham is to be the only striker that is recruited by the Magpies ahead of the new season, it may be a risk that could see United suffer in front of goal.
