Danilo Gallinari fractures hand after throwing a punch during Italy game

Danilo Gallinari will miss the 2017 EuroBasket tournament for one of the dumbest reasons: He punched an opponent in the face and broke his hand.

The Clippers forward got into a scuffle while playing for the Italian national team against the Dutch as he tried to get position for a rebound during a free throw and went into full fight mode.

While it isn't a great look for Gallo and the Clippers, who are already disliked by most of the league, you've got to admit, that was a pretty solid right hook that the Italian landed. A fractured hand can keep a player sidelined for a considerable amount of time, as Clippers fans previously learned with Blake Griffin after a similar incident.

He connected too. After all that, Gallinari had to be taken to the hospital for a potential hand injury.

Gallinari will miss the Eurobasket tournament for Italy but is expected to be fully recovered for the start of the Clippers' training camp in September, sources said.

The 6-foot-10 forward came to L.A. after inking a sign-and-trade deal worth $63 million over three years.
