Wrestler Ric Flair is 'awake, communicating,' says rep, but there are complications

Flair rep Melinda Morris Zanoni said on Facebook that she can not answer personal questions on the illness.

WWE legend Ric flair is awake and progressing after being put in a medically induced coma and having surgery earlier this week, according to one of his representatives Melinda Morris Zanoni, the CEO of Legacy Talent LLC.

Flair has been in the hospital since last weekend, in what was at first thought to be a heart issue.

She added: "The man outlived a plane crash & being struck by lightening, he is a survivor.Grateful 4 all the love & respect sent @RicFlairNatrBoy way". His fiancée appears to be hopeful that he is on the road to recovery, but knowing he is still in "critical condition" is quite frightening for everyone.

Zanoni went on to say Flair apparently had enough energy to "cut a promo on a nurse".

"From that moment on it all seems like a nightmare...multiple organ problems". "Not to go into too many details, but I want everyone to know he still needs prayers, as he is still in critical condition". Instead, Flair had an intestinal blockage and needed to have part of his bowel removed.

The multi-time world champion, 68, underwent unspecified surgery on Monday, which was reported by his team to have been a success.

However, on Sunday, she wrote on Facebook that "there has not been an official Ric Flair update, but that has led to a lot of false information". The latter has become his trademark.

Flair has been competing in pro wrestling for various organizations for the past 40 years, known by fans around the world as the Nature Boy.
