Nintendo Details SNES Classic Rewind Feature


Nintendo has revealed an interesting bit of news about its forthcoming SNES Classic Edition Console.

Pre-orders for the SNES Classic Edition unexpectedly went up in the middle of the night on Tuesday and sold out nearly instantly.

Here's a tip if you do want an SNES Classic: We just heard that GameStop told employees this morning to expect a "special announcement that will require immediate attention" later today.

Nintendo's official Super NES Classic website notes that GameStop, Target, Toys R Us, and Walmart will also be taking preorders for the system at some point.

Nintendo said this month it would open pre-orders some time in August. Pre-orders sold out immediately.

The Super NES Classic Mini is packing some powerful modern conveniences under its hood.

The standalone SNES Classic Edition will feature 21 games from the legacy console, including Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and the previously unreleased Star Fox 2.

If you're familiar with the NES Classic Edition, which Nintendo released in late 2016, then you're already pretty familiar with the SNES Classic Edition: It's a smaller version of the original SNES form factor.

The company came under fire this year for saying it wouldn't sell more of the NES Classic console, which sold more than 2.3 million copies.

Back in June, Nintendo unveiled the SNES Classic Edition, a follow-up to its retrofabulous NES Classic Edition that it launched a year ago.

If you made a decision to sleep last night, then you probably missed out on your chance to get a Super NES Classic when it launches.

BUT there were many who took a massive L trying to land an SNES Classic last night and rightfully so took their frustrations out on their timelines.
