Shortly before the Home Minister reached Anantnag, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the village Barbaugh in Shopian.

A Jammu and Kashmir policeman was killed and another critically injured when militants targeted them at a bus stand in southern Anantnag town, 55-km from here, on Saturday.

During the four-day visit, the longest by a home minister in years, Rajnath Singh will travel to Jammu and Rajouri as well as Anantnag in south Kashmir and meet civil society members, leaders of political and social outfits and business leaders. During his visit - from today to Tuesday- to the state, he will meet the Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. According to sources, he will also review the implementation of the Prime Minister's development package for the state.
