"He is looking like the first overall pick", Haden said on a conference call.
Haden quickly signed with the Steelers, a team he rarely beat in the past.
The injury puts Garrett's chances of playing against the Steelers in the opener on September 10 in jeopardy and took some juice from a story that has been simmering since the Browns made Garrett the first pick in the 2017 draft. The Browns, mirroring my tradition, held up their end of the bargain by again being home underdogs to the Steelers this time by nine points.
Cleveland's last win in the series came in October, 2014 in a 31-10 beatdown of the Steelers. Jones had right foot surgery in March and took just eight snaps in one preseason game. Cleveland's QB? Brian Hoyer. "But I don't know until we start playing".
Cleveland hasn't won a season opener since 2004.
In fact, the recent history is a reverse of the early history. The first was a cruise, 29-9. It's the whole defense against their offense. "He is one of the backup quarterbacks on this football team". Roethlisberger is the franchise and heading for the NFL Hall of Fame.
If Coleman stays healthy for the entire game, he could be the main weapon on offense.More news: Trump Asks US Supreme Court to Restore Refugee Travel Ban

Briefly: Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
NB: Sammie Coates could be the ideal fit in Cleveland. The defense couldn't rush the passer or stop the run. His ability to make plays with his feet as well as his arm may be enticing to fans, but Johnny Manziel also had that ability, and we all know how that turned out. Now, they just need to make sure everything clicks, and there's no better time than a Week 1 matchup against Cleveland. Joe Haden and Artie Burns should be an elite corner duo, with Sean Davis and free agent acquisition Mike Mitchell from the Panthers at the two safety spots.
Though they are under no delusions that their team would actually be good this year, Myles Garrett is expected to give them something to cheer about-a sack here, a forced fumble there.
Calvin Pryor took the hardest shot.
Garrett's status will be updated in a couple weeks following further evaluation and rehabilitation, though reports have suggested the injury will keep him out four to six weeks. He's a rookie and still has plenty to learn at the position.
Kizer is tied for the third-youngest QB to start in Week 1 since 1970, but there's no guarantee that youth will precede opening day jitters for the rookie. The Browns may have improved this offseason, but their No. 3 receiver is Sammie Coates, and their top cornerback now plays in Pittsburgh. Last season's starter Cody Kessler will serve as backup.
He was released by Cleveland just before the conclusion of the preseason and signed by the Steelers as a free agent on August 30. You have to be a guy who is weatherproof, a guy who is as tough as it gets.
