Odd for Chelsea to get another red card against Arsenal - Conte

ANTONIO CONTE could give Eden Hazard his first start since breaking his ankle last season in the Carabao Cup match against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

This is the third consecutive game against Arsenal that Chelsea have finished with ten players. Hazard has played only 44 minutes for Chelsea this season with an additional 93 minutes for Belgium over the worldwide break. Every game against Arsenal is always very tough, we knew very well what type of game we had to face.

When asked what his views were on David Luiz's sending off after showing his studs to Sead Kolasinac late on in front of the dugouts Wenger replied: "I think even Luiz would accept it was too strong. We lost Pedro against Arsenal in China as well". Wenger's side will also be boosted by the fact that they are going to play a second string XI in the Europa League until the knockouts, giving them the chance to focus on the Premier League. "We showed we wanted a result here today and we've got one".

"I think we needed that, after Liverpool", Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey said.

"We feel we're in a good place", Ramsey said, "and now need to keep building on this".

Pedro, back on the pitch after a painful challeng poleaxed him, was sent clear by Cesc Fabregas, but the Spanish live-wire could not get past Cech.

Antonio Conte and Arsene Wenger dropped key men as Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard started on the bench to be later introduced four minutes within each other in the second half.

Thibaut Courtois had to be far more alert in the Chelsea goal, particularly in the first half when Hector Bellerin's pace was unsettling the hosts on the right flank as he combined with Danny Welbeck.

"We had a lot of possession in the first half and tried to create but it felt frustrating".

"I repeat that we have great respect for them".
