Mourinho hopes Fellaini recovers in 2 weeks for Man United

Manchester United are fuming over a tackle that has ruled Marouane Fellaini out of their Champions League trip to Moscow.

United, who are unbeaten this season and are joint top of the Premier League with Manchester City, are in confident mood for Wednesday's tie although they will again be without Paul Pogba, who suffered a hamstring strain against Basel and could require surgery. "He had an awesome game in my opinion".

And on his thoughts on avoiding an FA ban after he was sent off in Manchester United's 1-0 win against Southampton, the two-time UEFA Champions League victor with FC Porto (2004) and Inter Milan (2009) said:"If I am not punished it is because there were no reasons for the sending off".

United started their campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win at Old Trafford against FC Basel on match day one with Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford getting the goals.

"After I watched it on television, no camera for Craig and he made that decision".

Marouane Fellaini and Luke Shaw haven't traveled with the team to Russian Federation.

"We don't have [Marouane] Fellaini, [Paul] Pogba or [Michael] Carrick", he told the press.

Goncharenko said post-match after the Moscow Derby that Fernandes could be up for selection if he recovers quick enough by Wendesday night, also stating that his medical team are doing all they can to make this happen. But we try not to focus on individual battles or specific areas on the pitch. "There's no pressure on him [in the worldwide break] so hopefully he'll be back for us". I do think the hosts will cause Mourinho's men problems but fancy United to edge it 2-1.

"If CSKA won against Benfica (this month) that means they deserve it".

On the other hand, Viktor Goncharenko's side have been inconsistent to say the least this season as they could only manage a 0-0 draw away to Dynamo Moscow at the weekend which sees them sit fourth in the Russian Premier League.

Mkhitaryan, 28, scored on their previous visit to Russian Federation in March, his away goal at FC Rostov paving the way for a 2-1 aggregate win in the Europa League last 16.

The Armenian has started all six Premier League games this season, bagging one and five assists.

The hosts are on a streak of seven home Champions League matches to finish with two goals or fewer and eight of their last nine in all competitions, home and away, have also gone under.
