IN man arrested in Colorado may be linked to Delphi murders


The two girls went missing while hiking and were found dead a day later.

Abby Williams, 13, and Libby German, 14, were reported missing on February 13.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says their investigating if there is any connection between Nations and the shooting death of avid cyclist Tim Watkins, a beloved member of Colorado's cycling community. The same happened in July, when they released a composite sketch of the suspect.

A man arrested on suspicion of allegedly threatening people with a hatchet on a Colorado trail may reportedly be linked to other crimes, including the slayings of two teen girls in Delphi, Indiana.

Daniel Nations, 32, was arrested Monday in Woodland Park. Their deaths were ruled a homicide, but authorities have not said how they were killed. "We have had a chance to do anything with the information but we have had over 1,000 photographs of people who look like the guy in the sketch", Indiana State Police Sgt. Kim Riley told ABC News Wednesday evening.

Indiana State Police was notified of his arrest and is looking into Nations' involvement in the death of two teens in New Delphi, Ind. The suspect has been described as between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and and between 180 and 220 pounds, with reddish brown hair.

Authorities have released a grainy cell phone image - taken by Liberty - of the main suspect in the case.

Nations was convicted of Indecent Exposure in Beaufort County, South Carolina in 2008.

'We will give the same attention to the person arrested in Colorado, but right now there is nothing that definitively connects this person to our investigation.

The arrest affidavit also states that Nations is a sex offender based on a conviction in Indiana.

Nations also has a warrant out for his arrest in Marion County, Indiana, on drug and vehicle-related charges. The sketch was partially drawn from surveillance video footage, which shows a blue jacket walking through the woods, as well as an anonymous tip from the police tip line.
