Nevertheless, it looks like we could be getting a new Sonic the Hedgehog movie in the near future since Paramount Pictures has recently scored the rights to the movie. Toby Ascher is also executive producing, with while Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons on board as co-producers. Playful, mischievous, and quick on his feet in more ways than one, the world's fastest hedgehog is known for his ability to move at supersonic speed to protect his friends from their enemies. With his experience in animation, there might be some hope in this movie, despite the poor reputation of video game adaptations.

Sonic the Hedgehog, veteran of countless video games, an animated series (with another on the way), and a long-running comic book series from Archie Comics is coming to the big screen. The feature was originally set up at Sony Entertainment, but the latest update has the rights moving over to Paramount Pictures.

The movie will blur live-action and CGI animation together to create a hybrid experience. The film's director, Jeff Fowler's, IMDb page is light on credits.
