Missing-child alert canceled after OH slayings

Lawson is an outdoorsman and hunter who liked being in the woods, but "I think he was just plumb worn out from being out in the elements" during a manhunt that spanned two cool nights, Lawrence County Sheriff Jeffery Lawless said.

Twenty-three-year-old Arron Lawson had been the subject of a manhunt in Lawrence County since authorities said he fled into the woods Thursday, shortly after midnight. "It looked like (someone) had been trying to hide the child in a location that wasn't obvious for law enforcement to look at". Deputies lost Lawson in a wooded area. Lawless said authorities searched in those areas before doing a more intensive search of the residence because the crime scene needed to be processed in a slow, methodical manner.

Aaron Lawson, 23, was arrested and taken into custody in southern OH on Friday after fleeing into woods near the trailer where a family was murdered. Holston lived there with two adults and one other child, who was safe at a relative's house while the incident was taking place.

They found three adults shot to death inside but did not search the premises thoroughly because they did not want to disturb the scene, Lawless, the sheriff, said previously.

Lawless mentioned that the people killed were somehow related, and Lawson was known or related to everyone in the residence as he spent a lot of time there "visiting and socializing".

"We no longer have a missing child, what we have here is a disgusting, terrible tragedy", Lawless said. Holston's body was recovered Thursday morning, hidden in the home. He has been named as Devin Holston.

At 12:30 a.m., police came upon Aaron Lawson's blue Chevrolet truck along SR 141, reports WSAZ. In the course of the pursuit, Lawson crashed into a ditch and fled on foot.

He stands 4-feet-8-inches-tall and weighs 80 lbs.

Agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, including crime-scene and cybe-unit investigators, are assisting Lawrence County with the case, said Jill Del Greco, a spokeswoman for BCI and the state attorney general's office. "We want to get him off the street and. have him answer for what he's accused of doing".

Anybody with information is asked to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office at 740-532-3525.

Lawless told the Ironton Tribune that all those involved were somehow related.

Lawless said schools in the Rock Hill district were closed Thursday because of the attacks.
