The Sooners arguably have the best win of the 2017 season with their 31-16 victory over Ohio State. Ohio State had a great win last weekend against Penn State, theyve played really well since their loss to Oklahoma.
"At this point in the season that head-to-head matchup is important to the selection committee", chairman Kirby Hocutt told ESPN, adding "and will continue to be important for the selection committee".
Notre Dame is now 7-1 and No. 3 in the playoff rankings, while FSU is 2-5 and in danger of missing out on a bowl game for the first time since 1976. Clemson (7-1) 5. Oklahoma (7-1) 6.
Another major criterion, head-to-head result, was manifested by Oklahoma being ranked one spot ahead of Ohio State, which fell to the Sooners 31-16 in Columbus on September 9. Those rankings had some Sooners wondering if the committee would do something similar.
"We all just watched it as a team just now", Oklahoma linebacker Ogbonnia Okoronkwo said. "Everybody's hungry. We feel like our foot's in the door, so we want to go ahead and make it happen".More news: Federal Bureau of Investigation seeking information about second man potentially involved in NYC terror attack

The rest of the top 10 was TCU at eight, followed by unbeatens Wisconsin and Miami. Alabama has no victory against a CFP top-25 team.
While the first playoff rankings won't be released until Tuesday night, a look at this week's rankings show the conference is on the outside looking in, as Clemson now sits at No. 5 and Miami - the only unbeaten team left in the ACC - comes in at No. 6. LSU's win over Syracuse is better than anything MSU has done in the non-conference and LSU's win over Auburn is better than any win MSU has, but that's about the only two respectable wins LSU has.
What a concept: Georgia, not Alabama, is the first No.1 this year. The Big Ten could match Ohio State with one loss and Wisconsin with none.
IT MIGHT NOT BE JUST THE PAC-12 IN TROUBLE: The top four includes teams from only two of Power Five conferences, and if Georgia, Alabama and Notre Dame keep winning it very well could stay that way.
There's a lot of work to be done to work this thing out. Both teams have wins over a ranked team, Auburn over MSU and MSU over LSU, so 49-10 is one of the biggest deciding factors here.
