Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has shot down claims his side are the underdogs ahead of Saturday's north London derby against Tottenham.

He now feels confident that Tottenham will resist any more major players leaving, and believes they are staying on course for sustained success.

Tottenham's Harry Kane has scored in all five of his Premier League games against Arsenal and has scored six goals total, including a brace in a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane on February 7, 2015.

For the first time in 22 years, Tottenham finished above their bitters rivals, sealing the Gunners' fate in a 2-0 win at the Lane.

"How many of these Arsenal players could get in Tottenham's team?" They now sit third in the Premier League and are through to the last-16 of the Champions League.

"To keep him quiet, yes", said Wenger, when asked if Arsenal have a plan for Kane.

"They've been in there the last few years so now I think they have to make sure they win something to show the progression", Cech told Sky Sports.

"For 20 years", Wenger said, before smiling.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has previously overlooked the French striker when naming his starting line-up to take on the bigger teams in the division, and with close rivals Spurs coming up this weekend, there is calls that he should be given the nod for the crunch match.

Victories over Real Madrid and Crystal Palace ahead of the worldwide break have left Mauricio Pochettino's side in a good position in both the Premier League and Champions League as they look to push on from their encouraging finishes to the past two campaigns. We were under pressure the last couple of years, with people talking about winning trophies.

But third-placed Tottenham, who have already beaten Real Madrid this season, will go in to the game full of confidence. We must respect them.

Dele Alli and Harry Winks, who also sat out England duty, will be assessed, along with Kane, on Friday.

Kane has scored in his last five games against Arsenal.

Lacazette became Arsenal's club-record signing in the summer after arriving from Lyon, and has started all but two Premier League games.
