CES 2018: Samsung Announces Revamped Notebook 7 Spin And Notebook 9

Samsung has announced it is unveiling an updated version of the original Notebook 7 Spin that was introduced back in 2016.

The Notebook 7 Spin features a 360-degree touchscreen, which can swivel around to give the notebook a tablet-like appearance. With a body built from light, but durable, magnesium alloy, the 13-inch Notebook 9 Pen is incredibly light, weighing in at just 2.2 pounds. No pricing has been revealed yet, but it will be available in the U.S. in the first quarter of the year. The recordings can then be stored on Samsung Cloud for future access.

The Notebook 7 Spin will be available later this year, although no price or firm release window has been announced yet. The notebook has an A/C metal body and comes equipped with an 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, coupled with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD drive. We don't have any word on battery life yet, but the 13.3-inch version of the Notebook 9 Pen is powered by a 39Wh battery, which is nothing to write home about, while the larger, 15-inch, model has a 75Wh battery. The dimensions of this hybrid are 315.8×215.4×18.5mm and its weight is 1.53 kg. On the connectivity front, the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin (2018) supports one USB Type-C port, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, one HMDI port and HP/mic port. It has a backlit keyboard, precision touchpad, and a fingerprint sensor.

Users can also hone their creativity with the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin (2018)'s Studio Plus, a feature designed for those who are fond of expressing their creative side.

The Samsung Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9 will roll out in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2018. "This device meets the needs of today's digital lifestyle, combining work and play with a smart, seamless and personalized experience that connects users with their other devices". Samsung's latest 7 Spin is not at the high-end of the company's portable computers, but it has the specs to let you zip through your office and communications apps and keep you connected.
