When asked about if the rumors that he might be slipping back into Obi-Wan's old Jedi robes were true, McGregor stayed optimistically mum.
He was marvelous in both his roles as Emmit and Ray Stussy in Fargo this past year, but immediately upon answering questions for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association as part of his Q&A duties as an award victor, he was mentioned for his work as Obi-Wan Kenobi in less than 15 seconds.
While it's nothing new to hear McGregor say that he is willing to reprise his Star Wars role given that he has been very vocal about wanting to return to a galaxy, far, far away, what's more interesting here is that he maintains that there is nothing concrete about the film.More news: Justin Timberlake Maintains A Funky Groove With New Single, "Filthy"

The spin off was reported past year.
The Hollywood Reporterstated in August that Oscar-nominated filmmaker Stephen Daldry was in talks for a spin-off film about the Jedi master who has been played by both Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor. Other reports have gone as far as to claim a movie has already been greenlight, and will have a 2019 release date.
During the Golden Globes last night, Star Wars prequel trilogy actor Ewan McGregor was asked about the planned Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off movie Disney are planning as part of their Star Wars anthology series. On the one hand, no progress seems to have been made on the spinoff. Hopefully, the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie will go more smoothly by comparison, assuming it becomes more than "just talk" over the year ahead. For now, though, fans will have to content themselves with the fact that another franchise favorite, Han Solo, will soon be returning to the big screen on May 25 in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
