Troy on Monday earned its first NCAA baseball tournament bid since 2013, and will play in the Athens, Ga., Regional as the No. 3 seed.

The NCAA Baseball Tournament is getting started later this week, so now the Aggies and Tigers have a chance to advance further than they did in the other two postseasons.

Columbia is led on the mound by Harrisen Egly (3-3, 3.86 ERA), who is the only one of the team's starting pitchers with an ERA less than 5.00. "With us, that hasn't happened, and it feels like we're climbing and we want to take that momentum into (NCAA) regionals and super regionals and get back to Omaha" for the College World Series.

Arkansas won its home regional in 2004 and 2010.

LSU and San Diego State are set to open the regional at 1 p.m. Friday, followed by Oregon State vs. Northwestern State at 7:30 p.m. "And we've got a real home field advantage".

Auburn tied for fourth nationally in wins against RPI top-50 teams (19) and had the fewest losses against teams with RPIs 51 and above, going 20-2 in those games.

The 64-team bracket will be unveiled at noon ET Monday on ESPNU. It was one of just four teams nationally with 39-plus wins against a top-10 schedule.

Florida, the defending national champion, is expected to receive the No. 1 overall national seed.

Casey believes the Beavers, who are seventh in the RPI, deserve a high national seed.

OSU received the No. 1 national seed past year and won its first two games at the CWS before bowing out to LSU.

"We're used to the extra-inning feel, and I think that proved true here", Mendoza said.

The Beavers are looking to finish the job this time around.

Mendoza's game-winning hit capped off a day in which he went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs; he also walked twice. Junior second baseman Devin Mann cut FSU's 4 run lead in half with a two run blast in the third, then a solo shot from junior outfielder Josh Stowers in the fourth would cut FSU's lead in half as well.
