Luka Modric wants showdown talks over Inter Milan move

According to Sky Italia, Croatia worldwide Luka Modric is tempted to join Inter Milan, with the Italian club having apparently made contact with the player's agents.

One possible reason for why the 32-year-old may be keen on the transfer is the number of his countrymen who already play at the San Siro for Inter.

It is reported that Vlado Lemic and Guiseppe Riso - the agents who oversaw Sime Vrsaljko's switch from Madrid to Milan - are now in contact with the player, acting as intermediaries between him and I Nerazzurri.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insists Luka Modric will only leave for his buyout clause.

The Real Madrid rumor mill doesn't seem set to stop this summer, with Luka Modric the latest player linked with a move away from the Spanish capital.

Real are unsurprisingly not considering letting him go following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo - but Modric may force their hand.

Bayern Munich ace Vidal was expected to arrive, however, the opportunity to sign Modric has thrown that deal into doubt.

Do you think Real can afford to lose Modric?

In doing so, Inter can offset the deal over two financial years.

The Croatian global, who was part of the side that finished runners-up to France in this year's World Cup, was named the player of the tournament after leading his side to six victories in their run to the final.

"The only possibility that Modric leaves is by paying 750m euros (£668m)", Perez was quoted as saying in Marca.

And they see Gundogan as a player that fits the bill.
