Jose Mourinho retains Manchester United backing despite dismal start

After Manchester United's poor start to the new Premier League season, Jose Mourinho is now at risk of losing his job if results do not improve immediately.

The victory was Tottenham's third in three Premier League matches this season, Mauricio Pochettino's men having previously beaten Fulham and Newcastle United, and Kane said his team-mates were burying their reputation as slow starters.

Monday's performance against Tottenham was the worst home defeat suffered by Mourinho as a manager and the worst home loss in league play against the Hotspurs since 1972. "It's time for the fans to stick together, to get behind the club, the team and the manager and the coaching staff". "It is a tough time at the moment, but we have had tough times before and got through it".

"That's me purely speaking as a fan".

"I do not know who will win, for me, City is something more [the] favourite, but in the Champions you never know". It is a hard time but they have been through tough times before'. "I'm sure with the quality of players he will have a game plan to push for the title".

An Old Trafford source told the Daily Mail: "They are saying Jose will be gone soon".

Mourinho is undoubtedly one of the world's best managers and there are very few names with a better track record of winning trophies.

"It's always mentally, can you get that rest, and I feel good, I feel fine".

A reportedly strained relationship with his manager has seen plenty of speculation suggesting Martial's future may lie away from United.

"Three for me and two for them", he said, referencing Pep Guardiola and Manuel Pellegrini's English top-flight titles.
