Yaya Toure closing in on return to Olympiacos

His agent Dimitry Seluk, who is known for being outspoken, hinted the player had passed a medical in London on Twitter.

He was offered to a number of Premier League clubs in the summer, with rumours of a reunion with Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham particularly common, but in the end there was no serious interest from England.

"Yaya has passed a medical in London".

Toure has agreed to sign a contract worth in the region of £1.5m and £2m after tax, but will not feature for his new side against Burnley on Thursday night. Pep meant to replace him with Jorginho - we all know how that ended.

Celtic fans are hopeful that Dmitri Seluk's tweet on Yaya Toure suggests that the midfielder could be heading to Parkhead.

You never know. but hopefully kolo has said to him to come to Celtic. stranger things have happened lol.

With West Ham and Palace as well as Fulham likely ruled out on the basis of Toure's successes as a player, only Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur would represent likely destinations for the 35-year-old.

Whether Toure is due to remain in the Premier League remains to be seen.

Arsenal supporters have always been craving a dynamic, mobile, spine of the team, although we're not sure any fans would have championed the signing of Toure, whose brother Kolo helped the club win their last Premier League title, which dates back to 2003/04.

He joined Manchester City in 2010 and won three Premier League titles with the club.
