It has a traditional, lower-quality screen and an aluminum body; it's physically smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus but has a bigger screen.

The XS Max has a significantly larger screen size than the iPhone 8 Plus, previously Apple's largest phone, despite the two devices being nearly exactly the same size.

Apple has updated its iPhone X with three new models. The three new iPhones have an average starting price of $949.

Speaking of battery backup, Apple World's Wide Marketing Senior Vice President Phil Schiller has said that the iPhone XS's backup is 30 minutes more than the iPhone X. While iPhone XS Max will back up more than 1 hour from the iPhone X. The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are premium smartphones with OLED screen of 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch, respectively.

It comes as no surprise that Apple builds on last year's iPhone X to create an updated "S" version, as it does every alternate year.

The new 2018 iPhones have finally been announced, and all the rumors and leaks have turned out to be true. The only potential hiccup to a record-breaking quarter is the fact that the iPhone XS won't launch until October. The new 12 megapixel cameras have bigger sensors and an improved HDR mode.

That combination of price, design, and features could make it popular with Apple fans who have been holding on to ageing phones.

The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will both have Qi wireless charging and Apple says it will charge slightly faster than the iPhone X! It will feature a 6.1-inch LCD display with an "edge-to-edge" and "top-to-bottom" screen, thus limiting its bezel size. It has the largest display ever seen in an iPhone.

The A12 Bionic processor that powers the new iPhones is a 7nm chip with 6.9 billion transistors, a 6-core CPU (2 high power cores and 4 high-efficiency), a 4-core GPU that's up to 50% faster than before, and an 8-core neural engine that can process 5 trillion machine learning operations per second.

In addition, Apple said the Series 4 Apple Watch will also be able to detect when someone falls - and can tell the difference between a trip and a fall.

The lack of a physical home button is compensated for by the single swipe up action from the bottom, which takes user to their home screen.

The fall detection upgrade is expected to appeal to worker safety concerns in factories or other industrial settings, as well as to elderly or disabled users. "The smartphone's base model starts at $749, and comes in six surprisingly vibrant colors - white, black, blue, yellow, coral, and the oddly-named "(PRODUCT) RED".

Dual SIM support - which lets a phone use two phone numbers and carrier plans at the same time - will be coming to the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR. The iPhone XS has a price that starts at $999, but tops out at $1,349.

The Apple Watch Series 4 will cost $499 for built-in connectivity and $399 for a standard model.
