Manchester United eyes record revenue despite shaky league start

The Times are reporting that Jose Mourinho has ripped into midfielder Paul Pogba and stated that he will captain the club again in front of his teammates.

Mourinho also confirmed Pogba has been stripped of the United vice-captaincy after criticising the Portuguese's tactics in a 1-1 draw at home to Wolves on Saturday.

Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson netted a spectacular strike, containing hints of Ronaldo, for Derby at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.

Paul Pogba has never been able to settle down ever since he rejoined Manchester United a couple of seasons ago and every other month there is news that the World Cup victor is on the verge of an exit.

"The same person that decides Paul is not second captain anymore was exactly the same person that decides that Paul was the second captain, myself. Just one decision which I don't have to explain".

United had taken the lead against Derby in the third minute with a well-placed shot from Juan Mata after Anthony Martial had burst down the left flank.

Phil Jones missed the crucial penalty in the shootout with the score at 8-7 and Mourinho admitted he was not confident of winning the tie once the centre-back stepped up.

Pogba has scored two Premier League goals this season, both from the penalty spot, although he was denied from 12 yards by Joe Hart against Burnley.

And according to the Daily Star's Adrian Stiles, Mourinho admires the defender and is keen to see Smalling's long-term future at Old Trafford assured before the season ends.

There will be, it seems fair to say, quite a lot of hoopla between Lampard and Mourinho before and after the match.

"I am trying to build a group to be successful and nights like this are incredible".
