Ramon Foster Advocates 'Taking A Shot' On Acquiring Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson

La Canfora also mentioned that they are looking to see if a cornerback will be available at the right price.

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson has requested to be traded by the October 30 deadline, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Peterson, Schefter tweeted, feels that the situation in Arizona is deteriorating, and "desperately" wants to get off what he views as a sinking ship.

Peterson is in the third year of a five-year, $70m contract and is due about $6.5m over the remainder of the season.

"We're not trading Patrick", Wilks said. That's cool enough, but things intensified when it came out that Peterson specifically wants to join the Saints.

Potential NY Giants trade target Patrick Peterson has requested a trade from the Arizona Cardinals.

At 28 years old, Peterson may be entering the latter stages of his prime, but he's still one of the league's best players at a premium position, and one that happens to be arguably Tampa Bay's biggest need.

Here's a look at five contenders who should think about going after Peterson. As they sit on top of the NFC South with a record of 5-1, the Saints are one of a handful of teams who could be legitimately considered as a Super Bowl contender.

Trading Peterson would give the Cardinals the chance to stockpile draft picks and build a team around rookie quarterback Josh Rosen. They're now looking like they're going into rebuilding mode.
