Red Sox capture World Series crown

The quest is complete. If you're a Red Sox fan who won't be in Boston (or is stuck at work) on Wednesday, you'll still be able to watch the parade from afar. After suffering through an 86-year drought from 1918 until 2004, the Sox have now won four titles in the past 15 seasons. I've been through a lot in three years since I came here, this is why I came to Boston. Boston fans got to chant "Beat LA!"

"I can't say we are the best [ever]".

Pearce joined Babe Ruth and Ted Kluszewski as the only players 35 or older with multiple-homer games in a World Series. The two superb hitters - one who will probably win the AL MVP award (Betts) and the Hank Aaron Award victor as the league's top hitter (Martinez) - each homered, with Betts's sixth-inning blastoff Kershaw fulfilling manager Cora's prophecy that he would break out of his slump in Game 5. "Then you see them come out and score a couple of runs and sometimes that right there can spark an offence".

"It was just a great night, all the way around", Pearce said.

Both Pearce and Price former Toronto Blue Jays.

"We've won 108 games, and obviously we've got some guys, MVPs and that type guys on our team".

The Dodgers looked on course to level the series as Yasiel Puig smashed a three-run homer in the sixth inning, leaving the Red Sox facing a 4-0 deficit going into the seventh.

Los Angeles opened the scoring on a throwing error by catcher Christian Vazquez.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he talked to his players and coaching staff about President Donald Trump's tweet criticizing Roberts for taking Rich Hill out of Saturday's Game 4 but that he hasn't thought much about it beyond that.

Boston outscored the Dodgers 28-16 and had only a slightly better batting average at.222 to.180.

That 5-week-old kid aside, most of the partying fans are old enough to remember when the Red Sox stood alongside the Chicago Cubs as the archetypes of long-suffering sports futility.

Game 4 is offering up sufficient amounts of drama and three-run home runs, folks. Moreland's homer was only Boston's second hit of the game. "Just rallying the troops and letting them know - we're the best team on the planet, and to start playing like it".

Former Cy Young award victor Rick Porcello went from having an ERA of 1.59 in the ALDS to an ERA of 7.20 in the ALCS.

Kershaw has retired 13 of his last 14 batters since giving up a two-run homer to Steve Pearce in the first inning.

Rodriguez threw 93 pitches and became the first pitcher to start a World Series game on zero days' rest since Firpo Marberry for the Washington Senators in 1924.

Price was superb over seven-plus innings, two nights after pitching in relief.

It was a sight all too familiar to dispirited fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw, with one hand resting on each knee, doubled over in agony while an October opponent jogged around the bases.

And they finished it in style as their ace, Chris Sale, ended it by striking out Manny Machado. Boston catcher Christian Vazquez ran out to jump on him with glee, and teammates from the dugout and bullpens followed.

In the spring, team owner Mark Walter said they should make the seven-time All-Star and three-time Cy Young victor "a Dodger for life".

"This has been the funnest year of my life", Pearce said on the field.

Puig then crushed a 92 miles per hour fastball deep into the left-field bleachers, raising his arms in triumph while Rodriguez slammed down his glove in pure frustration.
