A 55-year-old man fatally shot a woman inside a Florida Walmart on Saturday, according to the Ocala Police Department.
In a Facebook post Saturday night, Ocala police identified the suspect as David Johnson, 54, and the victim as Carli Cronin, 30.
The shooter and woman knew each other, and had been in a physical dispute near the Walmart garden section, police said.
A SWAT team surrounded a home a few miles (kilometers) away a short time later and evacuated neighbors before Johnson was found inside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to authorities.
"When we arrived, we heard a gunshot, he was inside the residence with a self inflicted gunshot wound", Ocala Police Public Information Officer Meghan Shay said. Ballard said Johnson threatened Cronin, saying at one point he was "coming strapped" for her.More news: Democrats File Lawsuit Challenging Acting AG Matthew Whitaker Appointment

As of Saturday, Ocala police were waiting for a search warrant to look for clues inside the house.
Ballard says the suspect wanted to get back together, but she did not.
The victim was pronounced dead, but her name has not been released.
The Ocala Star-Banner reports that the woman and the shooter had been dating for nine months, but had recently broken up. When Wade went outside, she said, she saw him riding away on a bicycle. The woman died at a hospital.
Personnel at the store called the police and tried to intervene, but the woman died.
