Other Republican senators, including Lindsey Graham, Rand Paul and Bob Corker, have been vocal about their belief of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince's involvement in Khashoggi's killing.
Trump shocked US lawmakers and world leaders when he vowed to maintain a partnership with Saudi Arabia, despite mounting evidence that MBS ordered the assassination of Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist who had criticized the crown prince.
