Trump says public should see 'ridiculous' Mueller report

Trump has denied collusion and obstruction, calling the investigation a "witch-hunt".

It was a symbolic action created to pressure Barr into releasing as much information as possible.

Trump has repeatedly slammed the Mueller probe as a "which hunt".

Some in the President's political orbit have begun to believe - and hope - that the Mueller report will be good news for the President, granting him the exoneration that Trump has so desperately sought since the Justice Department began to probe allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.

He added, "I want to see the report, and you know who will want to see it?"

"I just won one of the greatest elections of all time in the history of this country - and even you will admit that - and now I have somebody writing a report that never got a vote?"

Gohmert said that with all things considered, Trump is correct to want the entire Mueller dossier released to the public. Under the rules of his May 2017 appointment, Mueller, a former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is to submit to Barr "a confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions".

The US House of Representatives voted 420-0 last week on a nonbinding resolution calling for Mueller's report to be released both to Congress and to the public, but it is not clear how the measure will fare in the Senate.

On the other hand, if Mueller finds criminal behavior by Trump and believes the evidence strong enough to support an impeachment motion by Congress, he could, with Barr's permission, write a separate report making that case. "Man gets appointed by a deputy and he writes a report", the president said outside the White House as he was embarking on a trip to OH to visit a tank factory and attend a fundraiser. "So explain that, because my voters don't get it and I don't get it".

Barr said he was shocked to see the text messages between Strzok and Page. On Wednesday, Trump said that Sessions "didn't have the courage to do it himself" and said that it was interesting "that a man out of the blue just writes a report", before again recalling his Electoral College victory in 2016.

Mueller is required to deliver a confidential report to the Justice Department.

Trump's new attorney general, William Barr, committed during his January 15 confirmation hearing to releasing as much of the Mueller report as laws and regulations allow.

Mueller, Trump charges, "put 13 angry Democrats in" his investigative team, also false.

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former lawyer, recently testified before the House Oversight and Reform Committee, on Capitol Hill in Washington.
