$625 Million Powerball Jackpot Up for Grabs

The next drawing Wednesday is not estimated at $750 million, according to Powerball. That total places the current jackpot as the fourth largest in history and the third largest Powerball jackpot ever.

The Powerball website does not list the county in which the SC ticket was sold. It typically takes Powerball about one to two hours to process all the tickets and announce if someone won.

"I play it all the time, but 625 million, that would be ideal". If the ticket holder played the multiplier the amount won would be $150,000.

The ticket was sold at a mini mart in Lowell on McAdenville Road. In Michigan, there were 116,242 tickets sold that won at least $4 in the drawing.

Mega Millions drawings are Tuesdays and Fridays and are offered in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Eight of those winners - with tickets from Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York and SC - matched all but the red Powerball for $1 million.

The jackpot has reached such a live level due to 24 drawings without a victor. Deadline is 7:08 p.m. that day.

A SC purchaser won a $1.54 billion Mega Millions jackpot, which marked the nation's second-largest lottery prize ever. The man, who is remaining anonymous, won one million dollars after matching five of the selected white balls during the March 2 Powerball drawing, according to a Powerball press release.
