The man accused of gunning down rapper Nipsey Hussle in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles is under arrest, police announced Tuesday.

The Los Angeles sheriff's spokeswoman Nicole Nishida had said earlier in the day a man matching Holder's description had been detained in Bellflower, a city about 20 miles south-east of where Hussle was slain. "He left and subsequently came back armed with a handgun and purposefully and repeatedly fired, striking and killing Nipsey Hussle", Moore said. According to local reports, Hussle was shot in the head and body multiple times.

Nispey, real name Ermias Asghedom, was shot outside his clothing store, Marathon Clothing, on Sunday.

He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Two other men who were standing next to Hussle were also wounded.

Moore said his department was seeking to obtain a warrant to arrest Eric Holder, 29, identified Monday night as the suspected shooter through witness accounts and video evidence at the scene.

"We believe this to be a dispute between Mr Hussle and Mr Holder", Moore said.
