"We had a good conversation yesterday afternoon and I pointed out to him the Senate Republicans' view on dealing with comprehensive health care reform with a Democratic House of Representatives", McConnell told reporters Tuesday, describing his conversation with Trump.
Senator John Cornyn, R, said he did not think that Trump's tweet removed any pressure from Republicans to come up with a healthcare solution - an issue he said he would continue to focus on in his own re-election campaign.
"The Republicans are developing a really great HealthCare Plan with far lower premiums (cost) & deductibles than ObamaCare", he said.
Amid Donald Trump's recently renewed calls for dismantling the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, a new poll showed that Americans had more trust in former President Barack Obama and Democrats when it came to health care policy.
Trump vowed in the 2016 presidential election to end Obamacare but failed to do so during his first two years in power, despite Republicans controlling both House and Senate.
"He'd love to be able to address it now, but we know that Democrats are controlled by the far, radical left wing of their party and they are a total contrast to what we need and what the president wants to see happen when it comes to health care", Sanders said.
The Republican-led U.S. Senate on Wednesday changed its procedures to speed up the confirmation of President Donald Trump's nominees for some lower court judgeships and sub-Cabinet level positions.

This will essentially turn the Senate into the House, but it will also make it much easier for Democrats to pass legislation if they regain control of the Senate in 2020. Dick Durbin, D-Ill. "This is all about avoiding close scrutiny for extreme ideological nominees that Republicans want to pack onto the federal courts for lifetime appointments".
Trump, however, doesn't appear to have much hope in brokering a deal with the Democrats. Since mail ballots have to go through signature verification (just like in-person ballots go through at polling places), it takes a while to count them.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is expected to use the nuclear option to bypass democrat obstruction of the president's nominees. In March 2017 Jim Hagedorn advocated a "one page bill" to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
But other Democrats, McConnell said, indicated behind the scenes that they could support the rules change provided that it wouldn't take effect until the next administration.
The Republican Party will become "The Party of Healthcare!"
Central to the Republican replacement of Obamacare is going to be protecting people with pre-existing conditions.
