Chelsea can drop points and still make top four - Sarri

However, Sarri again acknowledged that Higuain "needs to improve" and is not finding the transition to English football easy.

"It was a problem for Suarez in the first season at Liverpool, in the second season he scored 24 goals".

The 18-year-old winger has made 20 appearances for Maurizio Sarri's team, but started a Premier League game for the first time on Wednesday when the Blues beat Brighton 3-0.

Higuain has scored three times so far for Chelsea but he has lost his place to Olivier Giroud in recent weeks.

Sarri feels that the Argentinian attacker has to improve both physically and mentally, but drew comparisons to La Liga goal machine Luis Suarez. He scored only a few goals.

Maurizio Sarri says he is not anxious about Chelsea's looming transfer embargo, insisting he has confidence in his squad as he targets a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Asked if he wants to sign Higuain past this season, Sarri said: "Yes of course, but it depends on the club, it depends on Juventus. I think he has time for improvement", Sarri said, according to Sky Sports.

And Sarri still believes that move should go ahead despite Higuain scoring just three times since arriving at Stamford Bridge.

"I think we have to fight until the last minute of the last match, but without looking at the other results. It's not clear the situation at the moment". Chelsea have the option to buy the Argentine for 36m euros (£31.3m) or to extend his loan deal until June 2020 for 18m euros (£15.6m).

Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri has claimed he can not promise starting spots against West Ham to duo Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, despite the pairs impressive midweek performances.
