Avengers: Endgame sets multiple box office records

It was always a foregone conclusion that Avengers: Endgame would be massive, but the first round of box office numbers are in, and it seems that quite a lot of people were keen to see how the aftermath of the Thanos snap would play out.

"Endgame" made an estimated $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office for its opening, according to Disney. Those films have now eclipsed $19 billion in worldwide box office. Endgame also added another record-setting day on Saturday with $109 million, and what looks like an $84.3 million Sunday today.

The Russo brothers are the main mastermind behind the unbelievable movie Avengers: Endgame along with three other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies namely Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. Friday, it had the biggest single day for any film ever, making $156.7 million in one day.

"Endgame" set the record for biggest opening weekend, bringing in an estimated $1.2 billion globally.

Marvel studio has earned an unbelievable $19 billion worldwide since debuting its first blockbuster, Ironman, a decade ago. Analysts predicted last week that the film could make anywhere from $260 million to $300 million domestically. The film also had the biggest IMAX global debut of all-time with $91.5 million.

The film's global domination was propelled by China. While Infinity War spread its focus to as many characters as possible, in Endgame, the screen time is heavily inclined towards the original Avengers members, as well as Scott Lang/ Ant-Man.

As for this weekend, another Marvel film grabs #2. Avengers: Endgame Movie Spikes Porn Searches for "XXX" Sex Videos of Captain Marvel and Black Widow. "As they saw the need, they opened up screens", said Cathleen Taft, distribution chief for Disney. The huge jump between the two movies is mostly because Infinity War didn't open in China at the same time it hit theaters in the rest of the world.

Endgame has received positive reviews from critics, with a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Thousands of new showtimes have been created in theaters nationwide to meet the unprecedented demand.
