National Basketball Association free agency: The winners and losers of Kawhi Leonard’s decision

The coffee chain Alfred Coffee, which has nine California locations according to its website, issued a message for LA's two newest stars and their teammates on its Instagram on Monday following the news that the duo were forming a super-squad with the Clippers. But Toronto couldn't give up what the Clippers were able to.

Leonard averaged 26.6 points and 7.3 rebounds in his lone season with the Toronto Raptors last season.

-The Toronto Raptors extended their appreciation to Leonard and Green for helping lead them to their first National Basketball Association championship, releasing a statement thanking the players hours after it was announced that the pair are headed to Los Angeles teams.

Leonard's ambition in trying to recruit Durant to the Clippers suggested he was serious about joining LA in free agency.

"I think you can't blame a guy for wanting to go home", Nurse said Saturday night in Las Vegas, where he was watching summer league games, per ESPN. Kawhi Leonard took nearly a week to make his shocking decision to join LA's other team, the Los Angeles Clippers. "That's what he texted me today, 'I'm going home.' He's going home and that's a hard draw (to compete with)". "He was unbelievably fun to coach... now we got to go kick his ass", Nurse said. The club also added free agent forward Al-Farouq Aminu (three years, $29 million) and waived center Timofey Mozgov.

As for the rest of the roster, aside from Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet, all of those guys are potentially available via trade.

Centre Marc Gasol has already agreed to return to the Raptors next season.

The best season in Raptors history won't soon be forgotten, and nor will Leonard.

There is an advantage for the Celtics that two of the league's top five players - James and Leonard - are no longer in the Eastern Conference.

Both have have reputations as being among the league's best defenders. The charter had landed from Los Angeles, causing speculation that Leonard could be aboard. Leonard was born in Los Angeles and was drafted from San Diego State University.

Leonard going to the Clippers means that for the first time, a reigning NBA Finals MVP will be changing teams before the following season.
